The Battle of Ten Kings, or Dasharajna, was a pivotal event described in the Rigveda. It was fought on the banks of the Ravi River (then called Parushni) in Punjab.
The conflict pitted the Bharata king Sudas against a confederation of ten other tribes. Despite being outnumbered, Sudas and his sage Vasishtha decisively defeated the alliance, which was led by the sage Vishvamitra. This victory established the supremacy of the Bharatas, who later became a foundational element of the Kuru kingdom, central to later Indian history and texts like the Mahabharata.
