Schrat

The Schrat (German: [ʃʁaːt]), also known as Schratt, Schraz, or Waldschrat (forest Schrat), is a multifaceted legendary creature in German and Slavic folklore. This supernatural being combines characteristics of several mythological entities—it exhibits traits of wood sprites dwelling in forests, domestic sprites inhabiting homes, and nightmare demons that disturb sleep. In other languages, the entity is also referred to as Skrat.
