Raróg

In Slavic mythology, particularly among Czech, Slovak, Russian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian traditions, the Raróg (Russian: Рарог) or Raróh (Ukrainian: Рарог) emerges as a powerful fire demon traditionally visualized as a fiery falcon.
Czech folklore describes how a raroh can be born when an egg is continuously incubated on a stove for nine days and nights, manifesting either as a magnificent fiery falcon or a fearsome dragon. Polish traditions offer a gentler interpretation, portraying the rarog as a diminutive bird small enough to be carried in one's pocket, believed to bring good fortune to its keeper.
The creature's cultural significance extends beyond Earth - astronomers named a volcanic caldera on Jupiter's moon Io as Rarog Patera, which experienced a substantial eruption documented by both the W. M. Keck Observatory and Japan's HISAKI spacecraft on August 15, 2013.
In modern popular culture, the mythological being inspired the northern cardinal-shaped emblem of acclaimed Polish video game developer CD Projekt, which they officially call the Raróg.
