Ragnar Lodbrok

Ragnar Lodbrok (Old Norse: Ragnarr loðbrók, meaning 'Ragnar hairy-breeches') was, according to legends, a renowned Viking hero and a king of Sweden and Denmark.

He appears in Old Norse poetry from the Viking Age, Icelandic sagas, and chronicles written during or near his supposed lifetime. Traditional literature depicts Ragnar as having conducted numerous raids against the British Isles and the Carolingian Empire during the 9th century. Norse legends also feature him prominently, and according to the legendary sagas Tale of Ragnar's Sons and A Saga about Certain Ancient Kings, Ragnar Lodbrok was the son of Sigurd Ring, a legendary king of the Swedes.
