Pegasus

Pegasus - the majestic winged horse of Greek mythology. Born when Perseus beheaded Medusa, he sprang forth from her blood alongside his brother Chrysaor. As the offspring of Poseidon and Medusa, Pegasus possessed remarkable powers. After ascending to the heavens, he served Zeus by carrying thunder and lightning from Mount Olympus, and created the inspiring Hippocrene fountain on Mount Helicon.
The hero Bellerophon later captured Pegasus near the Peirene fountain with divine help, and together they accomplished great feats, including defeating the fearsome Chimera. Their partnership ended in tragedy when Bellerophon, overcome with hubris, attempted to ride Pegasus to Mount Olympus. Some say both perished at Zeus's hand, while others tell that Zeus brought Pegasus to Olympus as his thunderbolt-bearer. Immortalized as a constellation and depicted countless times in art through the ages, Pegasus remains a powerful symbol of divine inspiration.
