Butch Cassidy

Butch Cassidy, born Robert LeRoy Parker in 1866, rose to fame as one of the American West's most notorious outlaws. As leader of the "Wild Bunch" gang, he orchestrated a series of daring train and bank robberies across the frontier during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

After more than a decade of criminal exploits, mounting pressure from law enforcement - particularly the relentless pursuit by Pinkerton detectives - forced Cassidy to flee the United States. He escaped with his closest companion, Harry Longabaugh (the "Sundance Kid"), and Longabaugh's girlfriend Etta Place. Their flight took them first to Argentina, then to Bolivia, where Cassidy and the Sundance Kid reportedly met their end in a fierce shootout with Bolivian soldiers in November 1908, though the exact details of their fate remain shrouded in mystery.

Cassidy's dramatic life of crime and legendary demise have captured popular imagination, inspiring countless films, television shows, and books. Today, he endures as one of the most recognizable figures of Wild West mythology.
