Aladdin

Aladdin, a character from Persian folklore, is featured in the collection of tales called the Thousand and One Nights (or Arabian Nights). Stories from Europe to China often included figures like Aladdin—ordinary individuals who came into possession of magical objects, granting them wealth and power. Aladdin's enchanted items were a ring and a lamp, both of which held the power to summon supernatural beings known as genies.
