Aeternae

The Aeternae were mythical beasts said to inhabit the northern plains of what is now Pakistan during the fourth century BC. They were described as having saw-edged, bony protrusions jutting from their foreheads, which they used as weapons against their enemies. According to legend, they attacked and killed several soldiers from the army of Alexander the Great who had recklessly provoked them into battle.
