Ishikawa Goemon(石川 五右衛門)

Ishikawa Goemon (石川 五右衛門, Ishikawa Goemon, August 24, 1558 – October 8, 1594) was a renowned bandit leader during Japan's Azuchi-Momoyama period. His reputation evolved substantially over time, particularly during the Edo period (1603-1867), when he became celebrated as a legendary Japanese outlaw hero who redistributed stolen gold and valuables to the poor.

Following an unsuccessful assassination attempt against the powerful warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Goemon and his son were executed by being boiled alive in public. His legacy endures in contemporary Japanese popular culture, where he is often portrayed with highly exaggerated ninja abilities.
