Eshu

Èṣù is a central Òrìṣà/Irúnmọlẹ̀ in the Yoruba spirituality or Yoruba religion known as ìṣẹ̀ṣe. He is a significant primordial Divinity (a delegated Irúnmọlẹ̀ sent by the Olódùmarè) who descended from Ìkọ̀lé Ọ̀run, and serves as the Chief Enforcer of natural and divine laws – he is the Deity responsible for law enforcement and orderliness. As this religion has spread globally, the name of this Orisha has varied across different locations, though the core beliefs about him remain similar.
