Emperor Jimmu(神武天皇)

Emperor Jimmu (神武天皇, Jinmu-tennō) is the legendary first emperor of Japan according to the historical chronicles Nihon Shoki and Kojiki. His ascension to the throne is traditionally dated to 660 BC. According to Japanese mythology, he was a descendant of the sun goddess Amaterasu through her grandson Ninigi, as well as a descendant of the storm god Susanoo.
The legends state that Emperor Jimmu led a military campaign from Hyūga near the Seto Inland Sea, conquered the region of Yamato, and established it as his center of power. In modern Japan, his legendary accession is commemorated as National Foundation Day on February 11.
Most modern scholars consider Emperor Jimmu to be a legendary figure rather than a historical person, as there is no evidence supporting his actual existence.
