About the website

Mythosjourney is an interactive archive of myths, legends, and folklore from all around the world. It features hundreds of markers spread across the globe, each one pointing to the approximate origin of a particular myth or legendary tale.

The goal is to visualize the human imagination. While dates and exact coordinates for legends are inherently speculative, I’ve done my best to ground every marker in historical context, cultural timelines, and available folklore sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit a myth? +
Absolutely. Just head over to the submission form and drop a submission. I'll go through the submission and add it if I think it's suitable.
How do I use the map? +
Click and drag to move, scroll or pinch to zoom, and click any marker to read a legend tied to that location.
How accurate are the locations? +
They are educated estimates. I place markers based on specific cities or regions mentioned in primary texts.
Is this project still active? +
Yes! I'll never stop updating this website. It's pretty damn cool.
